Faith, Leadership and Serving the community with Apostle Ayo

Ayokunu Oduniyi has set up his own church called a new thing in London. He has been a leader within the community for over five years with 4:12 Men as well. Ayo is a creator and a photographer that is using his skills and knowledge to serve God and reach out to communities. He is a multifaceted leader that is spreading the message of God. Ayo also has his own business called A&0 STUDIOS, we didn’t discuss this, but it defiantly would have been interesting.

Ayo join me on the podcast today to talk about his vision for a new thing London. He has been tasked with creating a church that is reaching into the culture and meeting people where they are at.

We also talk about how his leadership skills are being tested and strengthened. We discuss marriage, relationships, divorce and diversity. In addition, Ayo talks about 4:12 Men that is a community he started five years ago for Christian men. You’ll find out about the positive benefits that it has

It was interesting to hear the perspective of a young pastor starting out. I think we always hear from pastors that are already established but it was good to understand how building a church from the ground up is going. It would be great to have him on the podcast in a few years to see what the progress has been like and what new challenges he and his wife have had to overcome.

I also really liked hearing about how he grew up in a Muslim and Christian household. it was different to what I have experienced or known about someone’s life. To be able to hear about the dynamics that have led to.

I didn’t tell Ayo that I grew up in church and was a Christian at one point. I don’t know whether I should have and what difference that would have made. I have two points to raise about it. Did being a Christian before help me understand what Ayo meant by that God has sent him on this mission? Also now that I am not a Christian anymore did that hinder my willingness to explore Christianity more? I am not sure about either one but It is something that I will think about.
