ePISODE 09 WITH DAN TAKYI
Welcome to episode 9 of the b&r podcast where i talk to an close friend of mine about his recent experiences at Durham university, whiteness, imposter syndrome at uni, class and race inequalities, poetry and much much more. This episode is quite an in-depth episode with some concepts being explained. However, i really hope you enjoy it.
Since we talk about the concept of whiteness. this video helps with an understanding of this concept. when dan was talking about it a lot of things started to click in my head. understanding how whiteness guides our thinking on what is classed as elite or superiour really helps to acknowledge our own bias and those within the world.
I REALLY LIKED HEARING ABOUT WHAT POETRY DOES FOR DAN. KNOWING HOW HE IS ABLE TO COMMUNICATE HIS LIFE EXPERIENCES THROUGH POETRY I THINK IS A REALLY GOOD WAY TO COMMUNICATE THAT. AS WELL AS THE COMMUNITY THAT IS BUILT WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE POETRY SOCIETY. bELOW IS A YOUTUBE CHANNEL WHERE POETRY IS DONE IN THE FORM OF SPOKEN WORD. IT’S PRETTY COOL.
Dan’s personal recommendations for poetry is anything by George the poet. He told me that’s all anybody needs.
I hope this conversation added value to you, if so, share this episode, spread the word and leave a review. It helps this podcast grow and reach more people.
